Rivertek Industrial have developed the Micro HTTP a web server with a difference - it can run on small embedded J2ME devices and is small, efficient and contains IP security management.

Micro HTTP is a Java 2 Micro Edition Web Server designed to fit the following requirements:

The actual Micro HTTP library is around 32k in size, if you compare this to other Java Web Servers which usually range from 3,000K to 6,800 it is obvious the advantage for the smaller and memory limited Java Device.

Our product has been designed specifically to run on small devices and therefore we have worked hard to provide a very efficient Web Server, at around 25% fast than other Java Web Servers it offers a great opportunity to create interesting and simple Web Applications.

Customized URL Handlers are the key to creating you web experience, the default URL handler simply get the requested file from the configured root directory and returns that file back to the browser, however it is possible to register a handler to handle the URL in a completely different way.

URL handlers use optional sub directory and name or a specific URL handler name:

http://<IP or Hostname/<sub directory>/<filename> or

http://<IP or Hostname/<url handler>

The URL Resource Manager has the responsibility of checking whether the URL has a registered handler and if so it passes parameters in to the handler and waits for a response.

With web servers security is always an issue, Micro HTTP provides a security manager that provides IP range testing and can allow or deny, single, domain or complete IP ranges from access. In addition you can add you own customized security manager into to the product. In addition the URL handler and root document settings can be used to force access to a specific area of a disk.
